The Southern Vermont Board of Realtors® (SVBR) will be holding a public forum on Monday, April 6, 2015 at the new Hermitage Club, Haystack Mountain.   The forum is open to the public and will be held from 8:30am – 10:00am. The cost to attend is $12.00 per person and includes a breakfast buffet.

“The magnitude of real estate taxes is an economic impediment for many despite the state’s generous income sensitivity program”, said John McPherson, SVBR President. “Ever higher education spending appears to be the largest driver of real estate taxes. We’re looking for solutions without sacrificing educational excellence ”.

Members of the public are invited to join Realtors® and Legislators from Bennington and Windham Counties to discuss ways to reform Vermont’s education finance system. It is not a simple task and it will take time. Prioritizing changes is important and will ultimately help to create a comprehensive solution.
