Message From SVBR President Donna Roemmelt
I hope you are all busy with transactions and that your Buyers interested in the tax credit got their offers accepted on time!
It seems as though the seasonal increase in activity has occurred in most areas. Lets hope the positive trends continue!
By now, you should be aware of the VREIN transition to NNEREN. This is exciting in that we will now have a statewide Multiple Listing Service in the state of Vermont!
In case you haven’t heard, NAR is offering a number of complimentary webinars on different subjects that you might find useful through their “Right Tools, Right Now “ program. Take a look at www.Realtor.ORG/RightTools.
As the state legislature ended their session, a number of issues are were considered that may affect all of us. Specifically, changes in the Land Use program as well as Income Sensitivity limits on property tax. Keep an eye out for results of these late session issues.
Race for the Cure quickly approaches, July 17 at Hildene in Manchester Vermont. The Vermont Association of Realtors® is once again a major sponsor of this event. You can participate as a runner, walker, financial supporter or Volunteer. Please contact Mark Linton if you would like to get involved.
With interest rates low, and inventories abundant, it’s a great time to be buying a property. Lets work to convey this to our customers and get things moving again!
All the Best!
Donna Lizza Roemmelt
VREIN to NNEREN Transition News
The following are notes from the Training Session that took place Thursday morning at the Hermitage. This was a well attended meeting and so much good information was given. If you missed these Training Sessions, you'll need to do some reading or watching a webinar in order to learn all the new features of the NNEREN system.
In case you missed the email late in the day Thursday, NNEREN sent out some quick information on what you need to do on the new system. The text of that email follows:
Dear Future NNEREN Members,
With the transition to NNEREN just days away, we would like to make sure you have all the information and tools to make this transition as seamless as possible. Please remember that on Friday, May 21st at noon the InnoVia system will go into "read-only" mode so MarketLinx can begin the data conversion. InnoVia will remain in "read-only" mode through the weekend, May 22nd and May 23rd. On Monday, May 24th the new NNEREN InnoVia system will be live and will contain the converted VREIN listing database.
So what happens post-conversion?
□ You will access the NNEREN InnoVia system via the following URL: www.nnerenmls.com
□ You will use the same login credentials you had for VREIN InnoVia. (In the rare instance that an existing NNEREN user had the same log-in ID, you will receive an email from MarketLinx with your new login info early Monday.
□ Once you are logged into InnoVia you will be required to accept the End User License Agreement and be directed to your Agent Profile to review your contact information and select your Sub-Board (local Board). Don't forget to hit "save" before you exit.
□ Review your current listings for accuracy and completeness - making any revisions for data that has not come over properly in the conversion. One specific item to note: In the Approximate Room Dimensions section for Residential/ Condo/ Mobile listings, "Full and ¾" baths will map to "full" baths in the NNEREN system. Please make any necessary adjustments on your listings to accurately reflect the correct full bath and ¾ bath counts by floor.
□ Review your listings for duplication. Although MarketLinx is "scrubbing" listing records as part of conversion process to eliminate duplicate listings which result from importing the VREIN database, some duplicates will remain in the new NNEREN InnoVia system. Please email the NNEREN office at eonneren@nneren.com with the MLS # of any duplicate listing that needs to be deleted.
□ Review your prospects and make any necessary updates.
□ Review your Saved Searches, CMAs, Custom Searches and Custom Displays. Although these are being transferred during conversion, if a field name has changed or is no longer available, you may need to update these accordingly.
Note that the VREIN InnoVia system will be available in "read-only" mode for about three weeks post-conversion to serve as a reference for former VREIN users Remember that this final "snapshot" of the VREIN database will be static and will therefore reflect the listings and other data as of noon on Friday, May 21st.
For a detailed review of all changes taking place in the new NNEREN InnoVia system, please click here for the VREIN Training Document.
NNEREN staff is available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about the conversion Monday - Friday 9AM - 5PM at 800-849-4039 and also on Saturday, May 22nd from 9AM - 1PM. On Monday, May 24th NNEREN staff will be available starting at 7AM. You can also email eonneren@nneren.com 24-hours a day and we will respond to you as quickly as possible. Finally, welcome to NNEREN. We are delighted to have you as a new member and sincerely appreciate your patience during this conversion process. We look forward to providing you with the best possible service throughout this transition and into the future. T Thank you, NNEREN
Notes from Thursday morning Training Session with NNEREN
- VERY IMPORTANT: NNEREN communicates a lot of information through the Bulletins that are displayed as soon as you sign on. Don't just click through them, please read them, especially in the first few months of this transition. You don't want to miss any important information!
- Verify and enter your personal information. Many agents look to MLS for your cell phone number and other contact information. Please make sure your information is complete
- MLS Numbers will be changing! Former VREIN MLS numbers will start with a '4' and any new listings you enter will start with a different digit, so that you can tell if the listing came from VREIN or was entered directly into the NNEREN system
- Check out the "New Tab" feature ! Ever been in the middle of entering a new listing and have a Client call to talk about a listing? With the New Tab feature, you can open a second tab and do other work on the system without having to get out of what you were doing. You can have multiple tabs open at a time!
- Sad News: Listing Information Sheets will now be 2 pages. NNEREN is working on a single page version, but for now, prepare for Customer, Full and other displays to be 2 pages. Save the environment, learn how to print 2 sided !
- The Training Workbook is under the MISC tab. Download a copy to your computer so that you can view it while looking at the NNEREN screens - this will help you a lot.
- BONUS: Free Virtual Tours. See the NNEREN Bulletins to sign up for free virtual tours
- Attachments. Tired of having to fax over the Lead Paint Disclosure forms when someone wants to make an offer? Use Attached Documents with your listings. If you don't upload deeds, tax bills, tax maps and other documents to the listing, you should - it's very helpful for other agents and Customers to see this information. The more information you give, the better your listings look. If you don't want Customers to have access to the attached documents, then you can select "Hide Documents" and then only you and other Agents can see the documents. If you can't create a PDF file, you can FAX the documents to the NNEREN system. See the User Manual for instructions.
- Public Remarks - Feeling especially verbose and enthusiastic about your listing? Now you have 1,000 characters to describe that listing to the public. That's a lot of words !
- Rentals is a new Property Type. Do you handle rentals? If you do, you can now enter them into NNEREN to share with other Agents. Just like sales listings, rental listings have co-broke commission amounts, photos, room sizes, and all kinds of information to describe your individual rentals.
- There are so many other features and information that you can see on the NNEREN website. There are training webinars where you can learn specific tasks and the documentation is designed to make your life easier on MLS.
- Don't be afraid to call NNEREN for questions like "Can I do this?" or Innovia for questions like "How do I do this?" They are both there to help. The phone numbers are always at the top right of the screen. Don't waste time trying to figure out something, just call. When you call Innovia, you'll get a human voice located in North Carolina who can help you with any question you might have.
