Message From SVBR President Donna Roemmelt
Spring has finally arrived and some areas are already experiencing in upswing in business activity. Attorneys & inspectors are seeing a similar rise. Lets hope this trend continues and makes its way throughout the state.
As you know, the homebuyer tax credit will be expiring soon, contracts must be in place by April 30, 2010, closing by June 30, 2010. Most indications are that this will not be extended. This might help to motivate those hesitant buyers.
If you still need credits for your license renewal, you can find a very through list of current course offerings on our website, www.SVTRealtors.com. Keep in mind the deadline for Sales Agents is May 31, 2010. I would recommend renewing online, its very easy & you’ll have your license in a few days.
Please mark you calendar to join us at our next membership meeting at the Hermitage Inn, 25 Handle Road, West Dover, Vermont on April 15, 830am.
Race For The Cure quickly approaches, July 17th at Hildene, Manchester, Vermont. Your Vermont Association of Realtors will be a major sponsor again this year. You can participate running, walking, as a volunteer or by making a pledge.
The board of directors needs your help. We need two volunteers to arrange speakers for and setup our membership meetings in Brattleboro and the Dover / Wilmington areas 2 or 3 times this year. If there is an affiliate or other industry professional who would like to speak with us or sponsor a meeting, please let us know.
We welcome your ideas and suggestions. Hope to see you at our next meeting!
Thanks!
Donna Lizza Roemmelt.
VREIN to NNEREN Transition News
The following is a message that was sent to all members, jointly by VREIN and NNEREN leadership. We are repeating it here in the event that you did not see it in your email from VREIN.
On February 12th NNEREN and VREIN announced agreement on the purchase by NNEREN of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) assets of the Vermont Real Estate Information Network, Inc., which will result in a state-wide MLS option for Vermont real estate professionals. As both organizations move forward toward the conversion into a single NNEREN MLS system, all efforts are being made to make the transition as seamless as possible, with minimal disruption for users.
As we move closer to the transition date, communications will be forthcoming from NNEREN directly to member firms and subscribers on a wide range of topics including training, IDX, Supra, InnoVia and NNEREN business rules. The transition training strategy includes NNEREN "Forum" sessions (education and Q&A), online webinars, an online orientation module and printed materials for office principals and lockbox system users. Meanwhile, a few comments on key MLS tools:
InnoVia Modifications - NNEREN's InnoVia site is being enhanced to integrate VREIN listings and to meet the needs of all Vermont users. The resulting InnoVia system should be largely intuitive for existing NNEREN users and easily grasped by current VREIN InnoVia users. Details will be provided on significant revisions prior to conversion date.
Continued Lockbox Service and Support - NNEREN is moving forward with our common Supra lockbox system. Conversion should have minimal impact on current lockbox system users while providing very low cost access to those who wish to join or expand their lockbox usage.
IDX Solutions - NNEREN and MarketLinx are dedicated to keeping the same VREIN IDX options as are offered today. Details will be provided to all NNEREN and VREIN IDX web consultants on data feed field changes as far in advance of the conversion as possible.
This transaction represents a very exciting step forward for members of both NNEREN and VREIN, and your questions or comments are welcome. Please feel free to call the NNEREN office with questions or suggestions at (800) 849-4039. NNEREN CEO Andy Werry and staff are available by email at eonneren@nneren.com.
Sincerely,
Kathy Sweeten, EVP, NVBR and VREIN
Andrew Werry, CEO, NNEREN
