COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course has been approved by the Education Subcommittee of the Vermont Real Estate Commission for two (2) clock hours for activating or renewing a real estate license in Vermont.
Level of Study: Intermediate, appropriate for Brokers and Salespersons
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
-
To review and discuss the main statutory rights of a buyer to cancel an agreement to purchase
-
To review and discuss the rights of a buyer to cancel associated with the duties and conduct of a real estate agent
-
To explore the wide array of other matters that may give a buyer the right to cancel
METHODS OF INSTRUCTION
Lectures review the four main Vermont statutory rights of a buyer to cancel an agreement to purchase real estate and various other rights of a buyer to cancel. This also includes real estate agent duties and/or conduct. Emphasis is placed on a seller agent’s skills at spotting potential cancellation hazards, thus providing it’s seller with better representation.
The Course is designed to be highly interactive, particularly after the first 40 minutes. The Course Outline contains a list of over 100 examples of possible problems which might result in a buyer’s right to cancel the deal. Obviously, time limitations prevent a thorough discussion of all examples and it is intended that the participants will select and choose those examples which interest them most. Additionally, participants will be encouraged to cite other examples from their own experiences.
This Course is appropriate for the beginner as well as the experienced licensee. This Course is suited for private offerings to small groups and single firms, as well as larger groups. In the smaller offerings, classroom style instruction will be in roundtable format.
Audio/Visual Aids not used.
